Architecture: low and high rise, pre-war buildings with a smattering of post-war mid-rises; brownstone townhouses; new development high rises (primarily along the Hudson River)

What I Like Most About It:

In my opinion, the Upper West side is one of the most architecturally interesting neighborhoods in Manhattan. There’s such a wide array of pre-war building styles. It’s also the only neighborhood in Manhattan nestled between two substantial parks – Central Park and Riverside Park. No matter where you live, you’re no more than a 10 to 15 minute walk to amazing green space. You also don’t have to leave the neighborhood if you don’t want to – it’s rich with amenities such as museums, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, grocery stores, home goods stores (Bed Bath & Beyond, West Elm, etc), clothing stores and gyms.
