Nikki’s Picks – 5ive Spice

If there’s one cuisine that I don’t seem to tire of eating, it’s Vietnamese. There’s just something about the combo of flavors – the heat, the freshness, the savoriness – that just keeps me coming back over and over. While we fortunately already had a fantastic place to go for banh mi sandwiches (I’m looking at you Banhmigos ;)), we sadly had very few options for pho.

Enter 5ive Spice.

From the moment their signage went up, I would stop by anxiously to see if they were open yet. I just had a gut feeling that this place was going to be great. I mean, come on, how can a place with pho, banh mi, banh xeo tacos and Brussels sprouts NOT be awesome?

My expectations were not just met – they were exceeded 🙂 Especially by their rock star dish, the house pho which features delicious, melt in your mouth short ribs. *drool*

The next time you find yourself in Park Slope, you’ll be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t give this place a shot. Trust me.
