Figure out what kind of apartment you want and what neighborhood is right for you by checking out these blog posts:
Most rentals require that you make at least 40 to 45 times the monthly rent. So use this figure to understand what your budget might be. For example, if you make $100,000, then your budget would be $2500 per month ($100,000 divided by 40).
Once you have an idea of what you can afford, get in the know about the market. Search different rental listings portals (including Corcoran.com!) to see what’s available in your desired areas. This will help make sure you have realistic expectations about your search and save you from wasting time.
